Beats Lab is a non profit organisation, which exists to provide more access to music for young people age 11-25.

We believe a form of expression for us all is so important and music is a powerful way to do so.  It is not only a big part of our identities as individuals but within our communities and cultures too. In our sessions we encourage young people to express themselves through

rap, songwriting, singing, beat making, music production, live instruments & midi keyboards, sound engineering, music programming software, & music video creation.

Challenging behaviour, SEN or issues at home can be common in the young people we work with but that doesn’t stop them excelling in our workshops.

We work across London to deliver uniquely tailored workshops to youth organisations & clubs, schools, private groups and even businesses.

Helping you release your inner music

We all have the ability - young people & adults alike - to create music. Beats Lab is here to provide a pop up music studio, and beat making & songwriting workshops, for you to unlock the music in you and release it for the world to hear.

Reveal your musical secrets

You’ll be amazed how musical you are - we help show you how

We use midi keyboards to create original music, these allow participants to explore any instrument through just one keyboard. This gives the opportunity for participants to gain experience in playing real instruments, exploring music theory unconsciously with support from our team.

In sessions, participants are coached to use Logic Pro X (music software). They can apply this basic knowledge in their future musical endeavors, as this is how most recorded music is produced.

Our sessions can supplement school music work for young people as music production and music programming is now part of the music curriculum and many schools use Logic & GarageBand (a free & accessible version of Logic).
